Hi, I’m Prisca!
As a patient-centered practitioner, I aim for optimal results through compassion, healthcare literacy, and empowerment: the more you know about your body, the more control you have over your healthcare decisions. Whether it’s lifestyle recommendations, nutrition (I love food and spend hours talking about how we can use food as medicine), or all the various modalities that TCM encompasses, I collaborate with you and your healthcare providers to offer the best care. While specializing in reproductive health and fertility, I also support various health issues and advocate for patients at every stage of their journey.
Taiwanese-Californian roots
I grew up in a working class Taiwanese immigrant family in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our healthcare options were limited, but Chinese herbal medicine and medicinal foods were always a part of my childhood. When we were sick, our family acupuncturist provided herbal remedies, lifestyle and dietary recommendations, and/or referred us to the appropriate physicians for further evaluation. He also taught us Yang Sheng (“nourishing life”), to cultivate wellness with the focus on prevention rather than to treat ailments as they come. Chinese Medicine was a lifestyle, an empowering tool for us to take care of our health when the American healthcare system wasn’t easily accessible for us.
I was preparing for medical school at UC Santa Cruz when I realized how TCM played such an integral role in my health and wellness. I wanted to practice medicine in a more holistic way, so I decided last minute to make the switch to TCM school. It has continued to help me with my own wellness, from motor-vehicle accidents to health issues, to illnesses in my family. It’s been an incredible journey, and I cannot wait to support you on yours.
